Whether you're riding, cheering, or just looking for something fun to do, there's something for everyone at the Everesting Cycling Fest. Find everything you need to know about the challenges, activities, parking, schedule, and more.
-
The Everesting Cycling Fest takes place on Fifty Road Hill in Stoney Creek (Hamilton), nestled along the Niagara Escarpment. View the Fifty Road climb on Strava to learn more about the route and elevation profile.
During the event, Fifty Road will be closed to through traffic, creating a dedicated space for cyclists to focus on their climb. All event activities, as well as parking, will take place at the top of the hill.
-
Fifty Road will be closed to traffic during the event. This means that you can ONLY access the event from the top of Fifty Road via Ridge Road. Please use McNeilly Road or Woolverton Road (NOT Fifty Road) to get to the event.
Please follow all event signage and directions from volunteers when approaching the event.
-
There will be NO parking on Fifty Road. Riders are asked to park on 11th Road, across from Fifty Road.
Solo Everest Riders: You will receive separate parking instructions by email. Please follow these directions, as we need to keep most of Fifty Road accessible for the event.

You don't have to ride a full Everest!
Whether you're tackling one climb or all 92, every rider is part of the challenge. Choose a goal that works for you, ride at your own pace, and take breaks when you need them.
Please note: You'll be responsible for keeping track of your own laps throughout the event.
If your goal is to complete a full Everesting, you can also use your ride to pursue an official Everesting challenge and formalize your achievement. Learn more about the requirements at Everesting.com.
-
Riders will have access to a rider rest area and support tent at the top of Fifty Road throughout the event. Here you can leave a bag with extra clothing, nutrition, water and other items you may need throughout the day.
Provided support will include:
Some food and snacks
Hydration
Music
Bike mechanics
First aid
Volunteer support
Fellow riders and community members cheering you on
Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but riders should still plan to bring their own nutrition and hydration for the challenge.
Please do not leave valuables unattended.
-

Share the road. This is a soft road closure, so cars may still be on the course. Stay alert, be courteous to drivers, and avoid confrontational behaviour or gestures.
Stay right of the yellow line. There is two-way bike and vehicle traffic. Call your passes and shoulder-check before turning around.
Ride to the conditions. Watch for leaves, wet pavement, and other hazards. This is not a race. Ride at a pace that keeps you and others safe.
Represent NHCB. Be respectful and courteous to riders, volunteers, neighbours, and drivers.
Your number plate must be on your bike while you are on the course.
Track your own laps. Riders and teams are responsible for recording their laps and elevation. Check in at the registration tent when you finish to report your total and collect your award.
Need help? Ask a volunteer or staff member. First aid kits are available at the top and bottom of the hill, with first aid personnel and mechanical support also available at the top. For assistance at the bottom, call 905-923-5963.
