Funraising for Everesting
Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point.
Help us meet our fundraising target of $30,000 for 2025
Last year we raised just over our target of $25,000 so for this year we are aiming higher. Sign up to ride and raise a minimum of $250 to help us get here. Through New Hope Community Bikes, we’ve been able to use these funds to support all of the cycling programs that give back to the community. As a charity, we appreciate all of your help.
The funds you help us raise Are used across all of our community programs
Ride Smart Program
The Ride Smart Program is designed to teach essential road safety skills and build responsible cycling habits in children (and adults!) through engaging, hands-on bicycle education. By helping kids ride with confidence and care, the program fosters a lifelong appreciation for cycling as a fun, sustainable, and accessible form of transportation and recreation.
To support this goal, Ride Smart provides a fully mobile fleet of bikes in various sizes, along with helmets and all materials needed to deliver the program.
Indigenous Bike Program
The Indigenous Bike Program supports remote and Indigenous communities in creating sustainable, youth-focused cycling initiatives that foster skill development, empowerment, and community connection through workshops and mentorship. The program also helps lay the groundwork for long-term cycling infrastructure including trail-building projects or the establishment of a community-run bicycle shop, providing employment opportunities.
Womens’ Programming
Our Women’s Programming, including Tour de Café and Tour de MTB is designed to build cycling confidence and independence among novice women riders by creating welcoming, supportive spaces to learn and grow. Our programming focuses on foundational cycling knowledge—helping participants understand the key parts of a bicycle, how to assess if a bike is road-ready, and how to ride safely. We organize group rides that are intentionally paced and planned to ensure every rider feels safe, seen, and comfortable as they develop their skills.
Cycling Without Age
Cycling Without Age is a movement that offers free trishaw rides to seniors and people with limited mobility, aiming to reduce social isolation and improve well-being. These rides, piloted by volunteers, allow individuals to re-experience the joy of cycling and connect with their community. Using specialized electric pedal-assisted trishaws each bicycle can carry up to two passengers on an adventure previously unimagined.
Community Bike Shop
Our community bike shop in Hamilton is a full-service repair shop and learning hub rooted in the belief that mobility should be accessible to everyone. By combining repair services, education, and access to low-cost and new bicycles, our community bike shop helps ensure that cycling is a viable, sustainable, and empowering option for all.
Fundraising Tips
-
Personalize Your Messages
Many people have found it helpful to create a template message and then personalize each one. Personalizing, even just by changing the greeting, can really boost engagement when asking for support. No mass BCC emails.
-
Reach People Where They Are
Consider what platform the individual uses most. For some, email is best since they’re not active on social media, while for others, social media is more effective. Try to reach out to people on the platform that you think will be most effective.
-
Test Your Donation Links
Make sure your hyperlinks work! Check that you correctly hyperlinked to your fundraising page in your email or ensure that you directly copy and paste the link if sending by messages.
